Japan and Netherlands have reached agreements to tighten export control of advanced chipmaking tools to China, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg on Monday. The two countries are planning to announce new measures in the coming weeks, which would include some measures from the US export control issued in October, the source added. Apart from the US, Japan and Netherlands are home to several critical firms that make advanced lithography, including ASML and Tokyo Electron. Advanced lithographies are key tools for making advanced chips. The US has pressured allies to follow its chip sanctions on China. [Bloomberg]
