Electric vehicle brand Avatr said on Monday that the standard version of its first production model will retail for RMB 349,900 (about $51,783) with deliveries scheduled for December, as it eyes a share of the premium EV segment in China. The Avatr 11 will be able to change lanes, overtake cars and enter and exit highways autonomously with Huawei’s advanced driver assistance software and will be equipped with CATL’s latest lithium batteries, giving it a driving range of 555 kilometers (about 345 miles). Chinese state-owned automaker Changan, tech giant Huawei and battery maker CATL jointly launched the new EV brand in late 2020. [Huawei, in Chinese]
